Updated: Change in Exit Re-Entry Visa Fees
As per a new royal decree, the exit re entry fee has been revised. 200 SAR will be charged for a single exit re entry visa issued for 2 months. Every month in addition will cost expats 100 SAR.
6 month single Exit Re Entry will now cost: 200 SAR for 2 Months + 400 SAR for 4 Months = 600 SAR for 6 Months.
However, the benefit of this new law is that expats will be able to send families on extended duration, up to one year. A one year single exit entry will end up costing 1,200 SAR under the new law.
Saudi Exit / Re Entry Visa
This is a special kind of visa needed only by expatriates living in Saudi Arabia. Not only do you need a visa to visit other countries but also for leaving and re-entering KSA.
Drawback for Exit / Re Entry visa
- This visa becomes a drawback in case of an emergency when an expatriate urgently needs to leave the country to attend to some personal business and can’t do so.
- You always need your sponsor’s consent when leaving the country.
- The duration of the single Exit Re Entry visa is specified by the sponsor. In other words, it is your sponsor who decides whether you get a visa valid for 1 month or 1 year.

There are two types of this kind of visa
- Single entry Exit Re Entry visa
- Multiple entry Exit Re Entry Visa

Failure to return to the country before expiry date
The expatriates who fail to abide by the expiry date rule on their Exit Re Entry visa will have to face the consequences. They will be banned from the kingdom for 3 years if they do not return back within the mentioned expiry date on their visas.
“Expats who leave Saudi Arabia on re-entry visas and fail to return before their expiry will be banned from re-entering the Kingdom for 3 years, the Passport Department has clarified.” (June 5th 2015, Arab news)
What if you don’t travel once the visa is issued?
If the visa is issued you have to travel within three months of the visa being issued. Failing to do so will result in a fine of SR1000.
What to do if travelling plan is cancelled after the visa is issued?
If for some reason you cancel the plan of traveling out of the country after the issuance of visa, you need to cancel the visa within 3 months to save yourself from the fine of SR1000 .You won’t be charged for canceling the visa.
